We paid a visit to Aubergines last night. What a fabulous restaurant! Lovely ambience whilst watching the sun go down from the terrace.
The menu is extensive, from traditional Turkish favourites like lamb tandir, through to European favourites like moussaka, spaghetti carbonara, and grilled Seabass. You can even find UK favourites such as steak pie. The steak choices are also excellent and the fillets are top quality.
I selected Caribbean Goat Curry which was nicely presented to me on a large square plate along with bulgar wheat and salad. We also received a large dish of double-cooked chips and seasonable vegetables. The curry was an absolute dream. Soft flakey pieces of meat in a rich spicy, fragrant and fruity sauce.
My wife chose a dish called Tornado Rossini, which consisted of a chump style fillet steak sitting on a bed of pan-fried liver all smothered in a thick dark, rich mushroom and red wine sauce.
If you are on holiday in and around the area of Fethiye, Hisaronu, Ovacik, Oludeniz or, indeed Calis, the Aubergine Restaurant is a 'must go to' restaurant for a fantastic culinary experience. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
Brilliant!! But in truth I was a little embarrassed because I left a bit of salmon as I wasn't at my best - it had been a long hot day and I was drained. The calamari starter was perfect and the salmon a la creme delightful, even though I didn't do it full justice by finishing it all. The decor and layout is very classy and sets the restaurant apart by a mile. The view of the sunset was breathtaking and the management, staff and service were top notch. Well worth hopping on a dolmus and visiting from Fethiye or Oludeniz.
Superb food - as always !! I get the impression that the chef cares about every plate of food that comes out of the kitchen.
They never overbook, always planned well. After service the chef comes out and has a casual chat, asks if everything ok.
No dancing waiters! No load music, just lovely 😃
