En iyi lahmacuncular listemde ilk 5’e girer. Kuzu sis yumusacik ve cok lezzetli. Icli koftenin kendine has bir tadi var ve gayet lezzetli. Sadece biraz fazla kizartmislar. Mekan sakin ve ferah. Hizmet de gayet iyi.

Yesilkoyun en eskilerinden ali haydar kebap, yuvalama,cop sis,lahmacun ve kunefe ve katmeri gozu kapali yiyeceginiz mekandir ustune ustluk guleryuzlu sahibi ile sevdigimiz yerlerden biridir. Yaz aylarinda kapi onune atilan masasinda cay icmenin keyfini ancak bir yesilkoylu anlayabilir.

Bir yesilyurtlu olarak bolgenin bana gore ( bakirkoy ve florya dahil ) ennn iyi kebap salonu. Oturacak cok masasi yok idare eder ama hijyenik temiz doyurucu lezzetli kaliteli etleri var. Ayriyeten lahmacunlarida cok basarili. Paket servisleri sicak ve hizli ancak tek puan kirilabilecek noktasi fiyatlar biraz yuksek ama onuda ikamet ettigi muhitten dolayi mazur goruyorum. Eger cevrenizdeki kebapcilar sizi tatmin edemiyorsa mutlaka yesilkoy ali haydara yolunuzu dusurun derim.

First look:
My best restaurant experience in Istanbul! Good location, spacious enough to always have a table ready for you and also to enjoy an uninterrupted personal moment. One place where I found the staff extremely helpful despite the language problem. The manager was quite proficient in English and him personally making sure we had no problems made me fall in love with this city on the very first day of my stay there. I was just happy of not getting lost in an alien country to participate in a competition travelling without parents for the first time but only with 2 of my team mates.

Food:
Barring a couple of words, we couldn't understand anything on the Menu, partly because there were Turkish names and partly because we had never encountered a restaurant with such an authentic European cuisine. The staff patiently tried explaining the dishes to us but we were ready to explore anything. We did remember to ask them about any beef in the dishes since we aren't used to eating beef in India. The staff was honest enough to tell us that most minced meat includes beef and they'd make sure we weren't served any of those.
Lahmacun- This is what Turkish pizza is called. It was delicious with great complexity of flavours and included a generous quantity to suffice the 3 of us.
The soup was well cooked and resembled the daal that we eat back home.
Mixed Kebab platter- The kebabs were amazing, authentic and took us back to India.
Künefe- This was a sweet similar to baklava and out mouths imploded with such sugary sweetness complimented with pista.
Salads wonderfully complimented the kebab experience. Never have I had such a well balanced salad.

Ambience:
This place completely zones you out from the urban noise just outside its gates with a decent furniture and nuce dim lighting. It was a perfect place for a quiet pleasant dinner. But it also had the mandatory TV showing a football match, football being loved all over Turkey. The seating was adequately comfortable and decent. Considering it being a fine dine restaurant, the staff was exceptionally friendly! Despite the linguistic mismatch, in terms of choice of films, our wavelengths matched quite good! Thousands of miles away, our waiter had a Hrithik Roshan photo in his wallpaper gallery and was eager to show us his favourite filmstar Salman Khan's dance video! Where else would you meet staff that would playfully challenge you to eating a red hot chilli when you tell them that you have more chilli in your food back home. One of us did more or less pass that challenge ;)

Cost:
With constant conversions going on in my mind throughout the trip, I did let go of that burden and splurged here. But it turned out to cost us around 80 TL for the 3 of us hungry creatures. So around 700 INR per person would make it slightly more expensive than a restaurant of the same class back in Mumbai, but I was warned by the manager during our casual chat that this was in an extremely expensive area of Istanbul. Doesn't hurt to splurge while on vacation!

The only drawback seemed to be the slow service (about half an hour before our first order) but we didn't mind spending time with the lovely staff that we had built a good camaraderie with. Also, with great food comes great service time I guess.
Tying this place out is a must in Istanbul. Highly recommended!
